Helping Families Feel Informed and Confident

Choosing assisted living for yourself or someone you love is an important decision. At The Stonehaven Home and Valentines Assisted Living, we want residents and their families to feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout the process. Our team is available to answer questions, explain our services, and help families understand what to expect when considering one of our communities.

Private-Pay Assisted Living

The Stonehaven Home and Valentines Assisted Living are private-pay communities and do not accept Medicare. Costs and payment arrangements are discussed with prospective residents and their families before admission, so they have a clear understanding of services, rates, and financial responsibilities.

Our goal is to provide families with clear information upfront and answer any questions they may have before making an admission decision.

Resident Rights & Dignity

Every resident deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, compassion, and consideration. At The Stonehaven Home and Valentines Assisted Living, we are committed to providing an environment that respects each resident’s privacy, personal choices, independence, preferences, and individual needs.

We believe residents should feel heard, valued, and comfortable in the place they call home. Our staff works to support each individual while encouraging as much independence and involvement in daily life as possible.

Family Visits

Maintaining strong relationships with family and friends is an important part of our residents’ overall well-being. We encourage loved ones to remain involved, visit regularly, and continue being an important part of each resident’s life.

Visiting Hours:
8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Daily

Our goal is to create welcoming communities where families can continue spending meaningful time together.

Preparing for a Move

Moving into assisted living is a significant transition, and our team is here to help make the process as comfortable as possible. Before admission, we work with residents and families to help them understand what to bring and what information may be needed.

Residents may bring clothing, personal-care items, medications and medication information, important documents, favorite photographs, decorations, and personal belongings that help make their new space feel familiar and comfortable.

We encourage families to ask questions throughout the process. Our goal at The Stonehaven Home and Valentines Assisted Living is to make the transition easier while helping each new resident feel welcomed, supported, and at home from the beginning.

Long-Term Care Ombudsman

Residents and their families have access to the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, an independent resource that helps residents understand their rights and assists with concerns related to long-term care. West Virginia law provides ombudsmen access to long-term-care facilities and allows them to educate and assist residents regarding their rights.
